Lee Jong-suk, a popular South Korean actor is not as popular among brands as he is with fans. The actor failed to renew his contracts for commercial films and is now out of work, at least for now.
Although Lee had not been active since the end of 2014, but his failure in commercial contracts is clearly a shock to his fans. Some speculated the controversy which Lee was in the middle of, led to his current status.
In 2014, Lee was caught on camera while pushing away a female fan at an airport. The fan's intention was to hand a gift over to the actor, but Lee rejected the fan and walked away. Many blamed the actor for being too selfish, and some pointed out that he became a snub after a series of successful drama and movie appearances.
Although fans' speculations are not confirmed, any head of brand PR would evade from hiring such an actor whose image cliffed over a controversy as the company's representative in commercial films.
