As a new model of iPhone is released, Apple applied significant changes to iPhones' camera module. The iPhone 7 series, which is due to be released in a few months, may feature dual-camera.

A photographic image was originally uploaded onto Weibo, a Chinese social media, which showed two camera modules. A Twitter user "Steve Hemmerstoffer", who specializes in the leaked information of IT devices stated the modules are for the new iPhone 7 series (iPhone 7 PLUS and iPhone 7 Pro), and one of the modules is a dual-camera.

Dual-camera modules fitted into smartphones are not rare these days, the latest smartphone equipped with the dual-camera is LG's "G5". The dual camera operates separately, providing its user with different camera angle and focal points.

There had been rumors of which Apple would equip the new iPhone with advanced camera module of some kind to overtake its rivals- Samsung, and LG. For years, iPhone had the reputation of being equipped with superior camera module when compared to its Android smartphone rivals of the same generation, but Apple fell behind since the launching of iPhone 6 series.

Rumors and information leaks which originate from China had been considered plausible over the past years since Apple's iPhone factory "FOXCONN" is located in China and its employees had been the main source of the leaks.

Intended or unintended, there is a history of photographic image or video of iPhone parts such as metal housing, camera module, and chips uploaded online, which later, found out to be the real thing.
