Google had been trying to improve accessibility to their products for a while. As a part of the project, the company launched a beta test of its Voice Access app for Android. With the Voice Access app, the users can scroll, navigate, write, and control their smartphones by speaking into it.

How the Voice Access app works is quite simple. The app scans buttons and tabs which could be touched to control the smartphone, and numbers it. The user can navigate to the desired menu by speaking out the number shown on the display and the app will control the smartphone to do so.

The Voice Access app is ideal for users who are not able to use their smartphone's touch screen due to paralysis or other reasons. The user can also navigate through their smartphones by saying simple commands such as "scroll down", "go home", "click next" or run apps by saying, "open Chrome".

Google did not notify the users how long the beta test would take, but currently, the company would not accept any additional testers saying, "Thanks for your interest in becoming a tester for the Voice Access app. At this time, the testing program has enough testers and isn't accepting more users. App developers can choose how many testers can participate in their testing program. Once the program is full, the testing version isn't available to more users."
