Young people's unemployment rate at South Korea's worst

Despite the increase in South Korea's total number of employees last month, the nation's unemployment rate is still rising.

According to a government report released on Friday, the nation's total number of employed people in March is 25 million. The numbers rose by 3,000,000 from March 2015. 495,000 people were newly employed in December last year, and recorded the highest monthly counted number in 16 months. But the numbers decreased in January (339,000) and February (223,000) for two months in a row.

Unemployment rate for young people aged between 15 and 29 is 11.8 percent, it has risen 1.1 percent point compared to the same period last year. The unemployment rate among young people in March is at the highest in the nation's history.

The total unemployment rate, including the young people, is 4.3 percent, which rose 0.3 percent from last year's record.
