Last Friday, Chinese mobile giant Huawei carried out a launching event for flagship smartphones P9 and P9 Plus. The company also released information about their new virtual reality (VR) headset, "Huawei VR", which looks very similar to Samsung's "Gear VR".

Huawei VR works the way most smartphone-connected VR headset would do, open the front slot of the headset, insert a smartphone, and wearing the headset. According to Huawei, the headset would also provide 360-degree sound field when right contents are played with appropriate earphones are used.

The Huawei VR provides a 95-degree field of view and it has a blue light filter to protect the users' eyes. The company also mentioned that more than 4,000 movies and 40 games, and over 150 panoramic tours will be available by the time of launching.

Users will be able to navigate and control the device with buttons and touch panel located on the right side of the device.

Although the company has not yet revealed the price and the date of its release, the Huawei VR is already gaining the world's VR fans' expectations.
