Park Hae-jin stamp to be issued in China

Park Hae-jin, a South Korean actor who is experiencing phenomenal popularity in China, is getting his own set of stamps. The stamps are not an event-specialty, but official stamps issued by the Chinese Postal Service.

Multiple media outlets in China have reported the news of the actor's stamp being issued over the weekends. According to the reports, the stamp is to be released in early May and will be distributed all over China.

The "Park Hae-jin" Stamps will be made into two versions- 100 sets of limited edition and normal stamps which are for normal uses. Also, Park Hae-jin will be getting a phone card issued with his face printed on it. he stamps and the phone cards already passed the authorities' censorship and are getting ready for sale.

The Chinese Postal Service said that the limited edition stamp set will cost 698 yuans(US$107.57) and the phone card will cost 120 yuans ($18.49). The normal stamps will cost 0.8 yuans ($0.12).

Park Hae-jin stamps and phone cards are a part of a project by the Chinese Postal Service. The project creates stamps and phone cards based on the 100 most influential cultural figures of China. Although Park is Korean, the Chinese acknowledged his influence in China and his love for the mainland. Park Hae-jin was the fifth celebrity to be chosen.

This is the first time for a Korean celebrity to have an official stamp issued by the Chinese Postal Service. In 2008, Super Junior's Chinese unit "Super Junior M" had their stamps issued, but it was a one-occasional event as a charity to help victims of an earthquake.
