Samsung Electronics is in a development of a smartphone app, "Voice of Life", which lets premature born babies listen to their mother's heartbeat and voices inside an incubator.

According to the World Health Organization's (WHO) reports, approximately 15 million babies are born every year worldwide, and they spend a week to months in an incubator until there are developed enough to meet the world.

Samsung, as a part of "People" project, unveiled "Voice of Life", and app which records mothers' heartbeats and voice, then edits it by removing high-frequency to make the sound similar to the one that could be heard inside a womb. The sound can be played inside an incubator to make the prematurely born babies feel safer and secured.

The sound of mother's heartbeat and voices are an important factor of babies' brain development, various study shows. The mother's sounds also provide a comforting connection between the baby and the parents. Samsung's Voice of Life would help the parents build a bond between them and their baby by using the app.

The tech giant only released a video clip and a short explanation of how the app works and has not yet revealed when and how the app will be released.
