[Leaks] Samsung Gear Fit 2 to be released in three colors

Images of Samsung's new wearable device "Gear Fit 2" are leaked online. The new wearable device had been behind veils arousing the curiosity of IT fans worldwide but an IT specialist Evan Blass uploaded press rendered images on his Twitter during the weekend.

Samsung's "Gear Fit", the first version of Fit series, released in 2014 was praised for its design and functional features. Unlike other smartwatch type brothers, Ger Fit featured rounded "Active Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode" (AMOLED) and provided its users with other fitness monitoring features such as fitness tracking, heartbeat rate sensor, and gyroscope to measure acceleration.

According to leaked information, the new Gear Fit 2 is expected to be released with upgraded features. Many rumors point that the device will provide IP68 level water resistance, which could be submerged in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes and it would also come with an AMOLED rounded, curved display like its older brother.

The leaked images show that unlike the previous Gear Fit model, the new device is likely to be released in three colors- black, purple, and blue.

How much the device would cost and when it would be released is not yet known. However, many experts predict the Gear Fit 2 is very likely to be released either in August or December, following Samsung mobile business' traditional product launch window.

Samsung has released multiple generations of "Gear" smartwatch lineup so far. The company's latest smartwatch lineup is "Gear S2" series, released in 2015.
