Nvidia, the world's no'1 video chipset maker, announced two models of its latest video card Friday. The "GTX 1080", which the company claimed "This had an R&D budget of billions of dollars", is such a killer item, it could even kill off its Nvidia video card brothers.

Jen-Hsun Huang, Nvidia's president and CEO said that the new GTX 1080 is twice as faster as two Nvidia "GTX 980" connected together and it's significantly faster than the Nvidia "Titan X". Titan X is the top-notch video card which costs 1,400 US dollars and GTX 980, the GTX 1080's direct predecessor, is priced at nearly 600 dollars.

The new GTX 1080 soon became the hot topic among computer fans straight after its announcement. Because not only the video card has the top performance, but it is priced at 599 dollars, insanely cheaper than the old models. Plus, GTX 1080 consumes three times less energy than the Titan X.

While the online communities are in the hype of expectation of the GTX 1080, GTX 980 and other older graphic card models such as "GTX 970" are filling up the shelves in online and offline markets since sellers who aim to sell off the older models before GTX 1080's release. Used older video cards are also being listed on secondhand markets.

Nvidia also released information on "GTX 1070". It is a less powerful version of GTX 1080, but supposedly faster than the Titan X and GTX 1070 would only cost 379 dollars, which is cheap compared to other brands' mid-range video cards' prices.
