LG introduced "LG Action Cam" Thursday, an action camera which fits into a palm. It can be connected to a smartphone or directly send videos to video streaming sites such as YouTube.

The LG Action Cam features a 12.3-megapixel sensor which can capture full HD or UHD video in 12, 60, and 30 frames per second. The camera also has full wireless connectivity supporting LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

One of the unique features of The LG Cam is that it supports live streaming of 720p video, 30 frames per second. It can be uploaded onto live streaming sites without a smartphone- clear advantage against the market's leader GoPro.

Other specs of the camera include- 2GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, gyroscope, accelerometer, support for microSD cards, and a 1,400mAh battery which provides up to four hours of full HD video recording.

LG announced that the LG Action Cam will launch in South Korea in June, but did not comment on its pricing. The camera's global launch will be made later this year.
