Google Play to fully function in Chrome OS

Google announced Thursday that "Google Play", application market software for Android OS, would work on Chrome OS. Chrome OS is Google's operating system exclusive for "Chromebook "laptops.

In recent years, Chromebook surfaced as lightweight, easy to use, and cheap laptops which are great for educational or business usage. But since it was not compatible with PC software, Chromebook's users were limited to a few applications, which had to be run with a browser.

But with the Google Play access, Chromebook users will have more than a million applications available to download. Google Play only provided application downloads for Android OS users. According to Google, Chromebook team collaborated with the Android team to enable Android environment work inside the Chrome OS.

With the upcoming change, the Google Chromebook would become a totally upgraded machine. Any Android OS application will be compatible to run on Chrome OS including the Office suite applications from Microsoft and other developers.
