Park Hae-jin, a South Korean actor who gained great fame from a webtoon-based hit drama "Cheese in the Trap", is to take the main role in the film version, the film and drama production company confirmed on Tuesday.
The film and drama's production company, "Mountain Movement Story" announced Tuesday that "After numerous talks over the creation of the webtoon –origianl Cheese in the Trap as a film, we have come to a decision to produce the hit drama into a Korean-Chinese film." The company also confirmed that Park Hae-jin will play a main role in the film.
In addition to Park, original webtoon creator Soon Kki will also take part in making the film, the production company said.
Cheese in the Trap drew a lot of attention during its airing early this year and was praised for its actors' / actresses' superb acting and a great plot. There had been rumors of the film adapted version is in its preparation, and some of the actors / actresses from the original drama will also appear in the film. Park had been one of the main characters who were mentioned in the rumors.
However other than Park Hae-jin, whether other main actors / actresses from the original drama such as Lee Sung-kyung, Kim Go-eun, and Seo kang-joon will appear in the film is not yet revealed.
