Hyundai Motor Group unveiled "RM16", one of its high-performance concept cars Thursday at 2016 Busan International Motor Show. RM16 is the company's latest "N" model concept.

The project RM (racing midship) by Hyundai, began in 2012 to test high-performance technologies and develop them for later use in the future. RM16 is the result of ongoing development of high-performing cars starting with RM14, which was revealed at the Busan Motor Show in 2014.

Like other RM project brothers, RM16 is purely concentrated on performance. The concept car features a low and long hood, with wide air intake, which resembles the gaping mouth of a deep-sea monster. Also, its hull is designed to maximize its aerodynamic ability.

Inside RM16's heart are six-speed manual transmission and midship mounted 2.0 theta T-GDI engine, tuned to perform 300PS. Plus, the RM16 is equipped with an electric supercharger to add a boost to its engine power and a kick to its responsiveness. The concept car also has electronic limited slip differential (E-LSD) which distributes power evenly to wheels when turning. Rm16's rear spoiler is automatically controlled to give the car a better aerodynamic ability.

Another unique characteristic of the concept car is that it has a very low center of gravity (500mm from the ground) and its weight is very evenly distributed (43 percent in the front and 57 percent in the rear).

Hyundai's high-performance sub brand "N" was launched in 2015. The company aims to focus on to demonstrate Hyundai's passion in manufacturing "Fun to drive" cars.
