Google pulled its search and advertisement businesses from mainland China six years ago and now, the tech giant wants to move back in. Google's CEO Sundar Pichai said during a "Code Conference" Wednesday.

"I care about servicing users globally in every corner. Google is for everyone," said the CEO. "We want to be in China serving Chinese users." Currently, Google's services in China are limited. Its search and its services are not available online or Google Play on Android OS smartphones.

Google's Android OS smartphones are a majority in China, but it's app store Google Play is not available, making it a big disadvantage. Chinese software / app giant Tencent's Myapp, Xiaomi's MIUI app store and Baidu Mobile assistant are the ruling android OS app stores

Now, Google is reportedly planning to introduce its Google Play app store to the locals, but it is not clear when the tech giant will make its way back to the mainland China. According to an IT specialist media outlet Recode's report, Google is likely waiting on Chinese government's approval.
