A third woman has sued South Korean K-pop idol Yoochun for raping in a bathroom, a cable news channel reported Friday, as he was under investigation by police in two earlier cases over similar allegations -- bathroom raping.
The new suit was filed at a police station in Gangnam, Seoul's affluent southern district, YTN said. Other news outlets citing police sources reported that Yoochun raped the third woman at his home in June 2014 after drinking at a bar in Gangnam.
There was no independent confirmation from police. Yoochun has been sued by three women in a week. His lawyer reportedly said the disgraced singer-actor would file a libel suit against the three.
The third suit came a day after the second, identified as a bar employee in a Gangnam bar, claimed she had been sexually assaulted on December 16. An investigator told Aju News that the singer-actor would be summoned for questioning.
C-JeS Entertainment, Yoochun's management agency, has issued a statement apologizing for causing public but insisting the second suit was also based on "groundless" allegations.
Yoochun has been "shocked", the agency said, adding he would leave the entertainment community if he is found to be guilty in any case.
The first woman has dropped her suit, retracting her earlier claims that she was raped on June 4 in the bathroom of a private membership bar in Gangnam, known for rapper Psy's "Gangnam Style" music video which went viral globally after its release in 2012. She had presented her underwear as evidence.
