South Korean netizens were all negative about bringing back "Adam", a cyber singer made of computer graphics that made his debut in 1998 but quietly disappeared months later.

The news about Adam's resurrection was hot Monday over the Internet after online users found out that a startup company had tried to perform a reboot on Adam, raising funds for concerts and talk shows.

Bringing the cyber singer back to life did not go well. The company had set a goal of raising 500,000 won (about 422 US dollars) but was short of 50,000 won.

The online users expressed relief over the failed fund-raising campaign. Many posted such expressions as "I don’t know what to say. This is absurd" or "Is this not a joke? Are People really trying to pull this through?"

Ifried, a user from the online community Clien.net, said: "This sort of marketing worked back in 1998, but not now. It would be OK if the tracks are good to listen, but somehow I don't think so."

Adam debuted with his album "No Love Like This" in 1998. The computer graphic with a voice-over by an unknown singer sold 200,000 copies but the project was closed as attention fell back soon. Adam Soft, the publisher, said at the time that Adam joined the military. Adam's sudden disappearance sparked rumors about his whereabouts, with some joking that he was killed by a computer virus.
