Porsche's sports sedan "Panamera" has something extraordinary. It has an Iron Man-like spoiler which pops up from the car's trunk.
The German car maker unveiled the first redesign of Panamera Tuesday. It wasn't the top specs which caught the eyes of car lovers worldwide but a pop-up spoiler hidden beneath the rear section that could be deployed just by operating a paddle located behind a steering wheel.
From the 1990s, somewhat over-sized spoilers had been the identity of Porsche. But some felt the large wing spreading out from the sports car was too eye-catchy and for them, the hidden spoiler could be a pleasant attraction.
Spoilers are wings attached to the rear. When driving at high speeds, a spoiler provides stability and better traction on wheels by generating downforce.
However, the humble Porsche did not mention much about the new pop-up spoiler on neither its website or in its announcement.
