A Chinese boy group impersonating YG Entertainment's "WINNER" has been spotted by South Korean fans.

A set of images were uploaded onto various online communities at the weekend, sparking a controversy over their authenticity.  One was a poster in which the names of the group and YG Entertainment were clearly stated.

The other image showed impersonators disguised as original members and wearing similar clothes. The fake group also listed awards, including "Mnet Asian Music Award's Rookie of the Year", which were actually achieved by the original group.

Fans have voiced anger at what the poster said as if the impersonators may have held a concert in Liuzhou city in southwestern China.

A user from South Korea's online community Nate Pann wrote: "These people don't even look like the original WINNER members." Another user said: "Why are they listing the awards WINNER won as if the fake group won themselves?"

Some experts pointed out that the controversial images could be something of fan-made contents, created to be WINNER-themed and intended for personal use among friends. There has been no official comment from YG Entertainment.
