LG Electronics Inc.'s next-generation organic light-emitting diode (OLED) televisions were chosen as the "official" televisions for major political conventions in the United States, an industry source said Wednesday.
LG's 4K ultra-high definition OLED TVs were installed at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia and the Republican National Convention in Cleveland last month, according to the source.
LG's OLED TVs were featured inside and outside the areas, allowing people to keep an eye on the proceedings during the conventions. The TVs were also installed at media centers and VIP areas at both conventions.
The final days of the two conventions last month were seen by about 30 million people. After the Philadelphia convention, US media reports said Hillary Clinton restored her lead over Donald Trump, citing opinion polls.
