South Korean police sought a court-issued warrant Thursday to arrest the first woman who sued disgraced star Yoochun of raping her in the bathroom of a private membership bar.

The woman has dropped her suit, but police accused her of committing calumny and trying to blackmail Yoochun of his money. Her boyfriend and cousin face charges of attempting to blackmail.

The scandal has sparked rampant speculation since it surfaced on June 14. Yoochun started his mandatory military service last August as a public service worker in the Gangnam district office in southern Seoul.

Yoochun has been cleared of rape allegations but faces charges of buying sex from the woman. The singer-actor was also accused of fraud because he did not keep his promise to give money after having sex.

The scandal has sparked rampant speculation since it surfaced on June 14. Four women have sued Yoochun of raping them, but police could not find any evidence related to forced sexual relations. Two women will stand trial on libel charges.
