German carmaker BMW will recall 11,968 vehicles of 11 models sold in South Korea to fix a baby seat latch that could be detached due to a welding defect, transport authorities said Wednesday.

Recalled vehicles include 8,233 BMW X3 xDrive20d crossover SUVs, the transportation ministry said. BMW's distributor in South Korea will recall vehicles produced between November 19, 2010, and April 15, 2016.

The South Korean unit of US automaker General Motors will also recall 384 Malibu and the Alpheon cars produced for five days from July 9 last year due to defective seat belt buckles in the rear seat.
