Instagram, one of the world's hottest social network apps, has reached one billion installs on the Google Play Store.
The Facebook-owned app now has joined the ranks of social network apps which have reached one billion installs. Other popular apps are Facebook, Messenger, and WhatsApp. Twitter recorded about 500 million installs while Snapchat recorded 100 million.
As of July 2015, Instagram had more than 500 million active users. As actual active users are slightly less in numbers when compared to the numbers of installs, current active users are expected to be around 800 million.
