Kim So-hye from South Korea's new girl group I.O.I will take legal actions against people who have posted malicious comments and false rumors onto online communities, according to the singer's agency.
S&P Entertainment said in a statement: "We have recently confirmed several online users have been defaming Kim So-hye by uploading malicious comments and spreading false rumors. We plan to take legal actions against the abusers." The agency said it has collected related evidence.
For months, Kim has been the target of malicious rumors since her appearance in a survival audition TV show "Produce 101". Some have described her as a violent, troublesome kid during her middle and high school days while others left curses about her looks and singing skills.
Despite constant criticism, the singer was selected as one of the audition's final survivors and joined I.O.I with ten other survivors.
