South Korean LPGA star and Olympic gold medalist Park In-bee said Monday she would not compete in next month's Evian Championship in France because of her injuries that would require treatment for at least three weeks.

Park has been resting at her home in Seoul since she garnered the Olympic gold medal in Brazil. The 28-year-old has battled back and finger injuries all season.

"It's difficult for me to compete in the last major event of the LPGA tour in Évian-les-Bains, France," she told a news conference in Seoul. Park, a LPGA Hall of Famer, won the Evian Masters in 2012. A year later, it was renamed "The Evian Championship" and became the fifth major on the LPGA Tour schedule.

"The pain in my finger has receded considerably, but I was required to stay in a hospital for a while for the regeneration of ligaments," she said.

She said she could compete in one or two more LPGA events this year while treating injuries during the rest of the season.
