Apple has issued press invites for its media event on September 7 in San Francisco to introduce the long awaited iPhone 7 series and other products such as MacBook Pro series and Apple Watch 2.

According to rumors and leaks, the new iPhone is very likely to drop its 16GB storage lineup, making the 32GB lineup as the entry model. The iPhone 7 series will also house faster A10 processors.

Although the exterior design is expected to keep the iPhone 6 series look, the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus will feature a dual-lens camera system. The twin-eyed camera will provide users with clearer images and faster focus.

A major change made to the new iPhone is the removal of a 3.5mm headphone jack. As seen in many leaked mock-ups from accessory makers and factory lines, Apple removed the headphone jack leaving only a Lightning jack, the counterpart of the mini-USB port used for charging and file-sharing.

Apple without a headphone jack became the center of controversy, but other leaks showed consumers can still use their conventional earphones and headphones by using a Lightning-3.5mm converter. The tech giant is also likely to inform about the upcoming updates on iOS 10 and MacOS.
