Samsung's new flagship smartphone Galaxy Note7 became the center of debate in South Korean online tech communities this week after a user uploaded the image of a half-burnt Note7 onto Twitter insisting the smartphone exploded while charging.

This was the second case of Note7's reported explosion. The first case was reported by the user of an online community, Ppomppu, on August 24, who claimed his phone had exploded while charging.

"It's been only a week since I bought this smartphone. I woke up in the middle of the night by the sound of an explosion and my room was full of burning smell," said the first user named Auroradangdangnamchin.

"Many people claim that I deliberately exploded my Note7 but it is not true. I used the official battery charger from Samsung," Auroradangdangnamchin said, urging other users not to spread "malicious rumors". "I fear Samsung may try to cover up this case and silence me."

A similar pattern was reported Tuesday in the second case. "My friend's Note7 exploded in the middle of the night. Please use the official battery charger from Samsung and keep away from the Note7 when charging," another user tweeted. The tweet is currently deleted.

Many Samsung fans are expressing worries as the two images had things in common as the explosion seemed to have taken place at the right side of the Note7 and both incidents allegedly took place while charging.

"The (second) explosion seems very similar to the first one," commented a user called "Unknown Mtd". Another user worried: "Just imagine what if an infant or a kid was nearby when the phone exploded? Samsung should look into this matter and recall the phone if necessary."

According to the users, Samsung has taken in the exploded Note7s for an investigation but there have been no feedbacks from Samsung yet.
