Multiple cases of Samsung's new flagship smartphone Galaxy Note7 exploding have been reported worldwide, triggering an online debate in less than two weeks after the new gadget was unveiled globally.

Four cases have been cited so far at home and one was reported abroad by a YouTuber named Ariel Gonzalez who claimed his phone attached to his waist exploded after charging. He did not say whether he was injured.

Gonzalez' YouTube video showed the left side of his Note7 was severed damaged like other cases. This was the first explosion reported outside South Korea.

"Hey YouTube, just wanted to post this and share what just happened to my note7. I came home after work and put it to charge for a little bit more. I had class and went to put it on my waist, and it caught fire," he said. "In anyone was wondering, I was using the official Samsung charger."

Another case was reported Wednesday by a person who claims to be a sibling of "Dalbitteduri". Her sister's smartphone allegedly burst into flames at night and uploaded an image of the damaged smartphone onto an online community.

"It's been less than two weeks since my sister bought the new phone. I woke up to a loud bang in the middle of the night to see my sister's phone burning. The room was charred and full of smoke," said Dalbitteduri.

"It was lucky for my sister to have kept a little distance from the smartphone while charging it. Things would have been worse if she had it by her head while sleeping," she said, urging other users to keep a good distance away from the phone while charging.

So far, five cases have been reported online, and four cases have backed their claims with images or videos.

A similar pattern was reported Tuesday in the second case. "My friend's Note7 exploded in the middle of the night. Please use the official battery charger from Samsung and keep away from the Note7 when charging," another user tweeted. The tweet is currently deleted.

The third case, however, did not have any images or videos. The tech community user, Dahab, claimed that he witnessed an exploding Note7 in his company's cafeteria. "After the explosion, the owner of the phone contacted Samsung to have it picked up for investigations," the user said.

Many other users questioned Dahab if he had any images to back his claims but the user wrote: "The owner is a colleague of mine. I could ask her for some photos, but I can't guarantee that she would give them to me."

Many Samsung fans are expressing worries as the images had things in common as the explosion seemed to have taken place at the right side of the Note7 and both incidents allegedly took place while charging.

"The (second) explosion seems very similar to the first one," commented a user called "Unknown Mtd". Another user worried: "Just imagine what if an infant or a kid was nearby when the phone exploded? Samsung should look into this matter and recall the phone if necessary."

According to the users, Samsung has taken in the exploded Note7s for an investigation but there have been no feedbacks from Samsung yet.
