With Samsung Electronics trapped in an unexpected scandal over battery explosions, US tech giant Apple has unveiled new flagship smartphones, iPhone 7 and iPhone7 Plus, featuring an upgraded processor, improved cameras, a new glossy Jet Black color theme and more.

Most of the iPhone7 rumors became true. A notable new feature is the glossy Jet Black color. This is the first pure black color theme since the iPhone 5 was released in 2012. The black color was replaced by the Space Gray color theme in 2013.

Other than the Jet Black color, the iPhone 7 comes in gold, silver and rose gold used in previous iPhone series. Matt black colored iPhones are also available for consumers who do not prefer the shiny finish of the Jet Black.

Display

iPhone 7's display has not changed much from its brothers. It comes with a 4.7-inch Retina display while the larger iPhone 7 Plus is equipped with a 5.5-inch Retina display. But the display will be 25 percent brighter and will feature improved color reproduction, providing a more vibrant and wider range of color.

Processor

A 10 Fusion, a new quad-core chip processor, is the heart of the new iPhones. It uses five times less energy than its previous A9 processor. The tech giant pointed out that the new processor delivers up to 40 percent stronger processing power while its graphics is 50 percent faster than the A9.

High-performance cameras have become the norm for new smartphones. Apple had been a little behind camera-wise when compared to competitors, but the iPhone 7's camera game will get very intense.

The iPhone 7 camera features 12 megapixel with optical image stabilization and F1.8 aperture, which means that the new camera will take good pictures in a low-light environment and while in action.

But that's not all. the iPhone 7 Plus houses a dual camera. While the main camera works just normally, another camera supports 2x optical zoom, a feature normally not supported by smartphone cameras. Also, iPhone 7 Plus' camera supports digital out-focusing, providing users with dramatic images.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus' Price and Release date

Pre-orders start on September 9 first in Australia, Canada, China and other major markets. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is scheduled to be shipped on September 16. Prices start from 649 US dollars (32GB model) and 769 dollars for the larger iPhone 7 Plus. Each higher tier will cost 100 dollars extra.
