A Chinese business magnate will be investigated by South Korean prosecutors over allegations he has sexually harassed and raped two South Korean female flight attendants in his private plane, a press report said Thursday.

The sex scandal involving the head of China's major  department-store chain Jeshing dates back to April when the women in their 20s filed a complaint with South Korean police, Yonhap News reported.

Based on testimonies from the victims and other company officials, police sent the case to prosecutors for a criminal investigation, though the women dropped their rape suits in July following an agreement with the tycoon, it said. In South Korea, rape is not a crime subject to complaints from the victims.

The Chinese businessman is suspected of committing his crime in his plane and also in hotels but he insisted there have been no forced sexual relations, Yonhap said.

Jeshing opened a branch in South Korea last year and launched a project jointly with South Korea's innerwear company SBW to build a resort complex on the southern resort island of Jeju.
