Samsung Electronics Co., the world's largest smartphone maker, said Monday it has agreed to sell its printer business unit to US personal computer maker HP Inc. for 1.05 billion US dollars.
The transaction is part of efforts to concentrate on its core business areas, Samsung said, adding it would source printers from HP and continue to market them at home under the Samsung brand.
Samsung's printer business posted sales of two trillion won last year, Yonhap News said, adding te move was in line with Samsung’s efforts to streamline its businesses and put more focus on its flagship businesses.
