South Korean police arrested a couple Tuesday for killing their six-year-old adopted daughter by winding up her body with adhesive tape for corporal punishment.
Police said the couple allegedly wrapped up the daughter's body with transparent tape on September 28 in an attempt to correct bad habits such as gluttony and left her alone for 17 hours until she died at their house in Pocheon north of Seoul.
The 47-year-old stepfather and 30-year-old stepmother were accused of cremating the body with wood chunks in a nearby mountain before making a false report to police that they had lost their daughter during a family trip to a crowded fish market.
As evidence and DNA test, police have retrieved some of the daughter's remains and bones. The couple has habitually abused the daughter since she was adopted n September 2014.
