South Korean techno giant Samsung Electronics Tuesday unveiled its first ultra-high definition disc player, called "UBD-K8500", that provides four times the picture quality of existing Blu-ray players.

The device capable of playing back 4K Blu-ray discs with a high dynamic range (HDR) offers quick loading times and has plenty of streaming apps available.

The UBD-K8500, priced at 450,000 won (408 US dollars), delivers the best in-home video quality ever, but clients need an HDR-capable TV.

Samsung said the UBD-K8500 is designed to deliver the ultimate cinematic experience and provides a wider color range and dramatic detail with a Blu-ray player capable of upscaling lower resolution media to a stunning ultra high definition resolution. It features a sleek, curved design, matching with Samsung's curved SUHD TV.
