A sex tape became a controversial issue in South Korean online communities Friday as it was rumored to show Jung Joon-young and his ex-girlfriend, but the singer's agency claimed the sex tape was framed.

A fierce debate over the authenticity of the sex video erupted in various online communities. Although some claimed it is authentic, many said it has nothing to do with Jung. The singer is clad with tattoos but the man in the tape is not.

To cool down the heat, Jung's agency, C9 Entertainment, released a statement: "The man in the video is not Jung Joon-Young. We did not take any legal action against malicious rumors so far. But from now on, we consider taking legal actions as the video continues to spread online."

The agency vowed to track the initial uploader of the video.  Jung had faced a criminal investigation for an alleged sexual offense last month, after his former girlfriend accusing the singer of filming her secretly during their sexual activities earlier this year. But the singer was acquitted by the police of the charges on Thursday.

Prosecutors said there was no clear evidence that she was recorded without prior consent on February 13. The 27-year-old had been investigated on suspicion of a sexual offense, although his estranged girlfriend dropped her suit.

Jung first gained public recognition after appearing on Mnet's music competition show "Superstar K" in 2012. Since then he has been a regular guest on various TV programs. However, he quit popular TV programs including a KBS variety show called "Two Days, One Night" to take responsibility for the scandal.
