South Korean boy group Bangtan Boys, also known by the abbreviated name BTS, swept eight local and international music charts with its second LP "Wings," the band's management said Monday.

"Upon its release on Monday, the title track 'Blood, Sweat & Tears' snagged the top spot on popular music streaming sites," Big Hit Entertainment said.

In some domestic charts, the featured tracks in the album dominated the top ten slots, overtaking other hit artists such as the iconic 90's boy band Sechs Kies and the Bolppalgan Puberty group, who have been on the list for some time.

The seven-member act has also been riding a huge wave of popularity overseas.

In China, BTS' latest title track topped QQ Music, the largest music streaming and downloading service provider in the country. Moreover, the group's second LP took the country's daily and weekly album charts by storm.

"Wings" also generated an explosive response in other countries including the United States, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, Norway and Taiwan, topping the iTunes album charts in 23 countries.

This mega-hit album came two years after the launch of its first LP, "Dark & Wild," released in 2014.

The boys, who used to feature powerful performances singing about their youth, softened up in their latest album, showing off their manly side by depicting young men in emotional conflicts facing temptation.
