Samsung has shipped fireproof packages including special kits as a part of the second global recall of its troubled Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. The package was reviewed by XDA, a US-based mobile software developer community.
According to XDA, Samsung's so-called "Return Kits" came with a thermally insulated box along with a pair of safety gloves, and an instruction manual advising Note 7 owners to power off their device and insert it into a static shielding bag.
The owners are required to put the phone into an OEM replacement box, an inner box, and finally a thermal proof recovery box, XDA said, adding Samsung clearly warns the user to use a ground mail.
On Tuesday, the South Korean tech giant suspended production, global sales and exchanges of its Note 7 smartphone equipped with replaced batteries.
Galaxy Note 7s were put on sale on August 19, but Samsung announced a global recall on September 2 due to a series of fires caused by defective batteries.
Since Samsung's replaced phones were put back onto the shelves, at least eight cases of replaced batteries exploding were reported in the United States, Taiwan, China and South Korea.
