Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and four other foreign firms have been ordered to recall a total of 8,851 cars for defective parts that aroused safety concerns, the transport ministry said Wednesday.
The local distributor of Mercedes-Benz will recall 1,119 units of S350d and three other models produced between November 27, 2015, and April 11 this year for transmission-related problems, the ministry said.
Volvo will recall 862 units of two models -- XC90 SUV and S90 -- manufactured between April 21 and September 6 this year for problems in wastewater of their air conditioners, it said.
The ministry said 60 Toyota Prius cars produced between January 7 and March 15 would be recalled for poor welds in front air bag inflators.
