Hyundai Motor unveiled Tuesday its mid-sized flagship sedan "Grandeur IG" during a media conference held in Seoul.

The iconic flagship sedan is the first fully-changed model in five years. The first generation of Grandeur was launched in 1986 and met its 30th anniversary this year. Hyundai plans to release the Grandeur sedan next month, aiming to exit the company's sluggish sales.

"The Grandeur had kept its reputation as Hyundai's high-class mid-sized sedan since the launching of its first generation back in 1987," said Hyundai Motor vice president Jung Rak. "The Grandeur will offer a new paradigm into the world's automotive market."

Hyundai released rendered images of the flagship and an actual model of the Grandeur at the press conference. The new Grandeur features hexagonal cascading grill with futuristic LED headlamps, creating a unique luxurious exterior.

The Grandeur also features high-class driver assists such as an Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system, a Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), an Active Blind Spot Detection system (ABSD), a Driver Attention Alert system (DAA), an Advanced Smart Cruise Control and an Around View Monitor system.

While Hyundai Motor did not disclose The Grandeur's price and its exact date of release, many experts predict the price to be around 30 million won (about 26,440 US dollars).
