South Korea's 2011 hit film "Sunny" will be remade into an English-language version, according to Mashable, a New York-based online media.
Mashable reported that US film director Brett Ratner's company RatPac Entertainment and fellow producer and financier CJ Entertainment have hired Heather Hach to write an English-language remake of the movie. Hach is an American screenwriter who wrote the musical version of "Legally Blonde" and films such as "Freaky Friday".
Sunny, directed by Kang Hyeong-cheol, gained popularity with its nostalgic 1980's background and received positive feedbacks from critics and fans. It drew seven million viewers.
