Actor Kim Soo-hyun and Rock band F.T Island member Lee Hongki have failed to achieve the dream of becoming professional bowlers.

The Korea Professional Bowling Association said Kim was disqualified at the second round of trials Saturday and Sunday at a bowling center in Yongin south of Seoul, scoring a 30-game average score of 192.3.  In order to pass the second round, he had to score an average of 200.

Among 94 second-round players, Kim finished at the 68th place while Lee Hongki was at a distance 89th with an average score of 177.2.

The association suggested professional licenses could be issued to the two celebrities after they passed the first round, based on the idea that they could contribute to the development of South Korea's bowling community.  But Kim and Lee turned down the offer, saying they would compete fairly.
