A shoe left at the entrance of the office of prosecutors by Choi Soon-sil, a long-time friend of South Korea's scandal-stricken President Park Geun-hye, sparked a fuss Monday over its luxurious origin: Prada.

Choi got caught up in a series of tugging and pushing as she walked through a crowd of journalists outside the office of prosecutors in Seoul, leaving her Prada shoe behind.

The shoe, which was later handed to Choi, turned out to be a luxurious brand, Prada, becoming the subject of media and internet attention with people uploading  sarcastic posts about it.

"We have to understand. It must have been one of the cheapest shoes Choi had," said "Stargazer", a user from online community Clien. Another user "KarmaPolice" sneered, saying "it is true that a devil wears Prada."

Other online users follow the trend, posting a dedicated parody page for Choi's Prada shoes and wrote: "Today's item is the elegant, luxurious Prada shoes. It sure makes an impression even when surrounded by a crowd." They sarcastically warned that Prada shoes would be easy to come off.

Choi, who has been vilified for using her ties with South Korean President Park Geun-hye to meddle in state affairs, apologized before being questioned by prosecutors.

Apparently, an angry citizen threw a handful of dog droppings at the walls of the prosecutors' office in a gesture of protest.
