LG Electronics is preparing global sales of the smaller version of its flagship smartphone V20, according to a US-based online smartphone specialist media.
Phonearena, citing a trusted source in a report Wednesday, said: "LG V20 S is indeed likely to come to international markets including Europe. LG V20 S is a device that is already official in Japan: the LG isai Beat (LGV34)."
South Korean tech communities welcomed the possible launch of V20 S. "My hands are small and I really can't hold a 5.5-inch screen smartphone with a hand," said Assam from a tech community called Clien. Another user named Sangdol said: "We need smaller smartphones. Please release a smaller 4.7-inch screen phone!"
Last month LG introduced LG isai V34 in Japan. It has a built-in battery and a smaller 5.2-inch screen compared to V20's 5.5-inch. The smaller brother is water resistant and can withstand being submerged one meter (3.3 feet) under water for 30 minutes. Plut, it kept V20's characteristics such as a second screen and dual cameras.
