Gold and silver medals commemorating LPGA golfer Park In-bee's triumphant achievement at this year's Olympics in Brazil and a career grand slam will be released, the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corp. said Thursday.
The medals feature an illustration depicting the 28-year old's triumphant Olympic ceremony on its front side. A phrase reading "I bravely faced the challenges because I represent the Republic of Korea!" was engraved on the back side. Two gold and one silver medals will be up for pre-orders from November 14-15.
Park is the first golfer to win the first Olympic gold medal. She has also achieved a career grand slam winning seven major championships.
