SM Entertainment to develop AI-based service using K-pop artists

South Korea's top showbiz group, SM Entertainment, forged ties Monday with SK C&C, the information and technology services arm of SK Group to develop new entertainment services using artificial intelligence.

SM said it would provide contents related to the Korean pop culture wave "Hallyu" while SK C&C will offer its AI system called Aibril and cloud services.

SM is home to K-pop artists such as BoA, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, SHINee, EXO, Red Velvet and NCT. SK C&C offers total IT services.

Aibril, a combination of AI and brilliant, has been selected as the name of the Korean version of Watson, an AI system created by IBM. Aibril helps IT developers create various applications for robots and mobile devices.
