South Korea's top entertainment and media contents company, CJ E&M, gained a foothold in the production of movies Monday by putting a major production under its wing.
CJ E&M said it has increased its stake in JK Film from 15 percent to 51 percent to secure a controlling stake in the producer of hit movies "Haeundae (2009)" and "Ode to My Father (2014)" directed by Yoon Je-kyoon.
CJ E&M, a subsidiary of the CJ Group, is the largest investor and distributor in South Korea's cinema industry.
