Rapper Jessie's agency, YMC Entertainment, refuted allegations Friday that the female artist was caught by police after being involved in a physical fight at a dance club the previous night.
YMC said the 28-year-old was not involved in a brawl with an old friend when she visited the club in Seoul's Gangnam district for the music video of another artist.
"It is true that the two were locked in wrangling," a YMC official said. "But the argument did not escalate into a physical fight. However, some bystanders misunderstood the situation and called the police."
When policemen arrived at the scene, the two had already solved their row, the official added. Jessie made her debut in 2005 but finally came under the spotlight in 2015 when she appeared in a TV hip-hop survival audition. The rapper is popular for her rough but honest talk.
