Viagra has been tumbled into the luggage of an official entourage during President Park Geun-hye's trip to African countries in high mountain areas, the president's office said Wednesday.
The office described the erectile dysfunction drug as a household medicine to treat altitude sickness.
"(Viagra pills) were purchased to treat mountain sickness during a trip to Africa. We still keep them all because even a pill was not used," presidential spokesman Jung Youn-kuk told reporters.
Park, who took office in early 2013 as South Korea's first female president, made official trips to Ethiopia, Uganda, and Kenya in May. Kim's comment came after an opposition lawmaker told a local newspaper that the presidential Blue House purchased 60 Viagra pills in December last year.
