A new 21-seat premium passenger bus equipped with comfortable chairs made its debut Friday for long-distance trips from Seoul to two major provincial cities.
The seat could be stretched near-flat to a maximum of 160 degrees and has a built-in LCD monitor and a chargeable USB slot for entertainment. Privacy was ensured with partitions.
Using Hyundai Motor's luxury buses, express bus terminal authorities provide two routes to Busan about 320 kilometers (198 miles) southeast of Seoul and to Gwangju 265 kilometers south of the capital.
A ticket to Busan costs 44,400 won (37 US dollars), about 1.3 times more expensive than that of the conventional 28-seat express bus, but it is still cheaper than South Korea's high-speed rail system, Korea Train Express.
