Tottenham's Son Heung-min voted best S. Korean forward: Yonhap

Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-min has been voted the top South Korean attacker of 2016 by fans.

The Korea Football Association (KFA) announced the results of its year-end fan polls on Monday, with Son earning 3,456 votes, or 53.9 percent, as the best offensive player of the year. FC Red Bull Salzburg forward Hwang Hee-chan was a distant second with 301 votes.

Son also won the vote for the best goal of the year. His game winner against Germany during group play at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in August received 3,221 votes. Son also had the same honor in 2015.

National team captain Ki Sung-yueng, who plies his trade with Swansea City, was voted the best midfielder. FC Seoul center back Kwak Tae-hwi was named the top defender.
