The Chinese version of EXID's music video for "Cream" has been officially launched this week, triggering an enthusiastic response from local fans and complaints about its limited availability.

The five-member group unleashed the music video Tuesday only through Weibo, Chinese counterpart of Facebook, amid growing jitters in South Korea at a ban imposed by Beijing on K-pop contents.

But it has yet to be released through Chinese online music service provider QQ Music. Initially, the group's agency, Banana Culture Entertainment, had tried to release the track through Weibo and QQ Music simultaneously.

"This track is truly amazing! I am playing the music video over and over again!," said "LiuchenDS", a Weibo user. Another user, "Wajuejiyonghu", said, "The visual of the music video is so beautiful. It is melting my heart. Also, I think Hani's Chinese pronunciation is superb."

Some Chinese fans complained about Beijing's restrictions on K-pop contents. "Why can't I watch this music video in Chinese music services?" commented "Ruby Xiaotuzi".

EXID's sudden debut in China comes at the height of a simmering diplomatic row over the planned deployment of a US missile shield in South Korea that hurt ties between Seoul and Beijing and led to a freeze on the official distribution of South Korea's pop culture wave "Hallyu" in China.

The girls made their debut in February 2012 and unexpectedly gained success after their 2014 single "Up & Down" which went viral in South Korea, China, and other Asian countries.
