Super Junior member Shindong was discharged from an army band Friday, ending his mandatory military service, but he was whisked away by his colleague immediately after the singer completed a ceremony in his camp.

The 31-year-old has served at an army unit in Yongin some 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of Seoul for 21 months.

After saluting for the last time to his comrades, the idol was unexpectedly dragged into a car by his Super Junior colleague, Lee Teuk, who has been waiting secretly for Shindong to finish reporting his discharge to superiors. The car carried a poster reading "This car is headed to Incheon International Airport!"

Shindong was reportedly dragged into the filming site of "Battle Trip", a TV reality show. Shindong and Lee Teuk will appear on the show as main quests.
